In 2009, the firm was instrumental in assisting Blood Systems Inc., a large non-profit health care company, to form a national joint venture for testing blood donated through community blood centers. The joint venture, known as Creative Testing Solutions, is also a non-profit company, with three state-of-the art testing laboratories located in the United States. CTS was formally launched on January 1, 2010, and is operating as the second largest blood testing laboratory in the United States. The Lewis and Roca team was lead by corporate law partner Scott DeWald and assisted by Intellectual Property attorneys who helped client Blood Systems Inc. assess the trademark Creative Testing Solutions and obtained a federally registered mark.
