About Emily Cates

Ms. Cates is a partner in the firm’s commercial litigation practice group and focuses her practice on contract-based, business and real estate, litigation and counseling. Ms. Cates represents clients in federal and state court and has trial and appellate experience.

While in law school, Ms. Cates served as a second-year writer and Article’s Editor for the Arizona Journal for International and Comparative Law. She also externed for the Honorable Noel Fidel at the Arizona Court of Appeals.

Representative Cases/Matters

Representation of a local sand and gravel mining operator in a complex lease dispute that resulted in an $11,190,00.00 jury verdict for our client. The verdict was one of the top five jury verdicts in Arizona for 2007.
Briefing various litigation cases before the Arizona Court of Appeals.
