About Anne Aikman-Scalese

Ms. Aikman-Scalese is of counsel in the firm's Intellectual Property practice group. Her practice focuses on a wide variety of business and commercial contracts with a special emphasis on intellectual property matters, including branding, trademark registration and enforcement, copyright, and licensing. Ms. Aikman-Scalese has also negotiated a number of media-related financing, production, and distribution agreements.  

Prior to joining the firm Ms. Aikman-Scalese was with Waterfall, Economidis, Caldwell, Hanshaw & Villamana, P.C.

Representative Cases/Matters

  • Worldwide trademark clearance, prosecution, and portfolio management for a Fortune 150 manufacturer and a major mass market supplier of consumer goods for the children's market.
  • Management of a global defense industry trademark dispute involving supervision and coordination of counsel in over 20 countries.
  • Trademark clearance, prosecution, and enforcement for the Athletics Department of a state university.
  • Negotiation of Trademark Consent and Co-existence Agreements to permit registration of potentially conflicting marks on behalf of numerous clients, large and small.
  • Intellectual Property Counsel to a federally recognized Indian Tribe.
  • Negotiation of worldwide ancillary rights distribution agreement on behalf of film and television production company.
  • Negotiation of a licensing and royalty agreement with a major luggage manufacturer on behalf of the inventors.
  • Recapture of unauthorized printed materials on behalf of a World War II museum.
  • Enforcement of trade dress against a major cosmetics manufacturer to prevent passing off as client’s product.
  • Representation in Trademark Trial and Appeal Board proceedings for all clients as needed.
