About Joel Henriod
Mr. Henriod is a member of the firm’s Appellate practice group. Having worked side-by-side with Dan Polsenberg since graduating from law school, he has participated in briefing over 50 appeals and argued before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
His practice also focuses on making the trial court record for appeal. He has been invited to join over 20 trial teams to prepare complex, multi-million-dollar cases for trial and to participate during trial to identify and preserve potential appellate issues. In this context, he has established himself as a “go-to lawyer” for crafting special jury instructions and drafting post-judgment motions with an eye toward both persuading the trial court and preserving issues for appeal.
While attending law school, Mr. Henriod was an extern for the Honorable William C. Koch, Tennessee Court of Appeals, where he researched and drafted opinions. Prior to law school, Mr. Henriod volunteered at various orphanages in Romania and translated for American surgeons (Operation Smile) in the screening and operating rooms of the Bucharest Children’s Hospital.
