About Joice Bass

Ms. Bass is a partner in the firm’s Commercial Litigation department. She represents business clients in enforcing and defending against breach of contract and business tort claims (such as intentional interference with contract and business advantage, breach of the covenant of good faith and fair dealing, fraud and misrepresentation) as well as claims involving breaches of fiduciary duties. Ms. Bass has represented business clients from a broad spectrum of industries including gaming and hospitality, alcoholic beverages distribution, telecommunications and real estate development.

Representative Cases/Matters

  • Representing a global telecommunications company against a multi-million dollar suit brought by a Las Vegas travel agency that went out of business subsequent to purchasing and installing a system manufactured by the company but sold by an independent retailer.
  • Representing a national alcoholic beverages wholesale distributor in enforcing its franchise rights against various suppliers.
  • Representing a national engineering firm and one of its high-level executives against breach of contract, tortious interference with contract, and breach of fiduciary duties claims.
  • Representing a large PUD developer against a multi-million dollar suit brought by a sub-developer for breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duties, fraud, misrepresentation, and tortious interference with contract.
  • Representing an officer and managing member of a Florida limited liability company developing a large condominium high-rise in Las Vegas against multi-million dollar suits brought by buyers to enforce contracts to purchase units and for damages when the project was cancelled.

Other Distinctions

Ms. Bass is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. She was listed in the 2009 and 2010 editions of Mountain States Rising Stars in the category of Business Litigation. Ms. Bass was also included in the Legal Elite Top 100, as published by Nevada Business (2009 edition).

Ms. Bass is the recipient of the 2000 Wiley M. Manual Services Award from the State Bar of California for pro bono services. In 2008, she received the 50-Hour Club Award from the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada for rendering pro bono services. In 2009, Ms. Bass received the 100-Hour Club Award.

Ms. Bass successfully completed the Court of Master Sommeliers Introductory Course and Examination in August 2008.
