About Lewis Schorr

Mr. Schorr, a partner in the firm’s Real Estate Group, is Practice Group Leader of the Business Transactions section. Business Transactions includes the Corporate and Securities, Tax, Real Estate, Public Finance and Wills and Trusts groups. He concentrates in real estate, land use regulation, zoning and general business law.

His experience includes real estate sales and purchases, financing, subdivision, leases and other matters; rezoning, variances and other land use approvals, including representation of clients before various legislative and administrative bodies; municipal, county and state land use regulation, including development agreements; and annexation, initiative and referenda disputes.

Mr. Schorr is also active in firm management through his current position as Practice Group Leader and his prior memberships on the firm's Policy (Executive Committee), Finance, Hiring and Business Development Committees.

Representative Cases/Matters

Mr. Schorr has:
  • Represented an Arizona based real estate investment group in the acquisition and disposition of numerous major commercial, industrial and apartment projects located in Arizona and other states, as well as in connection with the financing and leasing of those projects. Mr. Schorr represented that group in negotiating, structuring and documenting a 19-property industrial portfolio sale transaction.
  • Represented Nevada-based development company in the assemblage of 4,000 acres in Southern Arizona for mixed-use master planned community.
  • Represented Tucson-based development company in the sale of, and negotiation and documentation of a development agreement for, 100 acre industrial site to be used by national big-box retailer for 1,000,000+ square foot internet sales fulfillment center.
  • Served as counsel for a national home building company in connection with dozens of land acquisitions in the Tucson metropolitan area.
  • Served as counsel for Los Angeles-based investment company in the acquisition and disposition of Arizona apartment and self-storage projects and the disposition of Nevada mobile home parks.
  • Represented development company in the sale of land to a national big-box retailer for a new store location. That representation also included the negotiation of a development agreement with a municipality, the buyer and an adjacent landowner for the construction and cost-sharing of on and off-site improvements for the development.
  • Represented Phoenix-based developer in the negotiation and documentation of a complex ground lease and build-to-suit leases for a state of the art medical research building located on the campus of a world-renowned health care provider.
