The Employment Law Alliance (ELA) announced today that it has reached a significant milestone, achieving representation in more than 100 countries. Recent additions of legal professionals from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Isle of Man, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Nigeria, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan brings the total number of represented countries to 103, allowing ELA to offer local legal services in more jurisdictions than almost any global law firm.

Lewis and Roca is proud to announce a successful judgment of $636,520 against sellers of counterfeit Major League Baseball Jerseys. Attorneys W. West Allen and Jonathan W. Fountain presented the case, and mid-February 2009, the verdict was returned.

After a week-long jury trial, the firm’s client, a Nevada corporation, obtained a unanimous jury verdict. The jury found the New York-based defendant liable for breach of contract, fraud, negligent misrepresentation, and breach of express and implied warranties. The verdict arose from the client’s allegations that they had been sold approximately 5,526 counterfeit Major League Baseball jerseys between March 2005 and March 2006.

~75% of those polled in the dark about proposed Employee Free Choice Act~

Despite millions of dollars already spent on both sides of the issue, three-quarters of Americans are completely in the dark over the Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA), a law touted by labor unions and political supporters as a way to increase unionization and improve the lives of middle-class America. And American workers are sharply divided over its merits, according to the latest national poll by the Employment Law Alliance (ELA).
