Charles of Lewis and Roca Selected as Representative to Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference

Lewis and Roca is pleased to announce that Rob Charles, an attorney with the firm’s Tucson office, has been selected as a Lawyer Representative for the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference for the District of Arizona.

Charles was selected from several attorneys who applied and will serve a three-year term beginning in November 2008 and concluding in July 2011. During that time he will not only attend the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference each year, but will also participate in the quarterly judges' meetings that are attended by the federal district court judges, the magistrate judges, the bankruptcy judges and the clerk of the court, as well as the annual conference of the District of Arizona.

Charles’ practice is concentrated in the Finance and Bankruptcy Group. He primarily represents both secured and unsecured creditors, as well as debtors, in all aspects of Chapter 11 business bankruptcy cases before the bankruptcy courts and in appeals. He works extensively in Arizona and Nevada with lenders and borrowers out of bankruptcy in all aspects of debtor/creditor relationships, including workouts and litigation. Clients range from agricultural lenders to national banks to sellers with carryback interests.

The Ninth Circuit is the largest of the 13 federal circuits and includes all federal courts in California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Montana, Idaho, Nevada, Alaska, Hawaii, Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands.
