2010 Land Use Update

June 4, 2010
Orange Tree Golf Resort

Lewis and Roca attorneys Frank Bangs, Tom Campbell and Mary Beth Savel will help present the 2010 Land Use Update, scheduled for June 4, 2010.

Seminar Details

The legal challenges raised by the regulation of religious uses will be the subject of the first of two morning sessions. Arizona offers obvious advantages for solar electric power generation, and our second morning session examines the land use implications of solar facility siting. During lunch, Ralph Becker, a planner and current Mayor of Salt Lake City, will share his thoughts about planning for community development in changing times.

In the afternoon, we will revisit the impacts of the real estate downturn with a discussion of remedies for approved but uneconomic development plans and plats. Our customary session on recent legislative and case law developments will focus on the Arizona Supreme Court’s decision in the CityNorth case. Concurrent sessions on ethics and "Stump the Experts" complete the program.

This seminar is of interest to planners, lawyers, developers, land owners, commercial brokers and government employees and officials involved in or concerned about land use planning in Arizona.
