Lewis and Roca's Commitment to Giving Back to the Community

Lewis and Roca has a rich history of providing pro bono representation to individuals in need.  In addition to our commitment to the bar and the community, we recognize that pro bono work provides significant other benefits to the firm.  Pro bono representation is an essential opportunity to increase the confidence and competence of our associates.  In pro bono cases, our associates learn what it means to handle a file and make strategic decisions that directly affect the course of litigation.  They learn how to deal with clients and how to interact with opposing counsel.  This, in turn, builds their confidence as practitioners and provides invaluable on-the-job training.  In addition, pro bono representation instills a deep sense of community service in the hearts and minds of those who help individuals in need.  Lastly, pro bono matters will provide associates the opportunity to work and interact with partners who might work in another practice area.  Our partners take an active interest in these cases and provide advice and encouragement to associates who accept them.

In recognition of our long-standing commitment to pro bono representation, each year we host a John P. Frank Pro Bono Awards Dinner.  This Dinner is our opportunity to honor those members of the firm who have committed significant time to pro bono work over the past year, including the recipient of the annual John P. Frank Pro Bono award.
