About Darren Brenner

Mr. Brenner is an associate in the firm’s litigation practice group. He represents clients in a wide variety of cases. Among other things, Mr. Brenner has substantial experience in first-party insurance coverage litigation, defending major insurance companies against claims of bad faith and punitive damages. He also represents insurers and claims administrators in lawsuits arising under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). Mr. Brenner’s representative insurance clients include major banking institutions as well as numerous life, health, disability, and property and casualty insurers. Mr. Brenner also represents clients in commercial disputes and personal injury litigation, both plaintiff and defense.

Representative Cases/Matters

Won summary judgment in multiple insurance coverage actions, including disability insurance actions and actions against property casualty insurers in multimillion dollar coverage and bad faith actions.
Won summary judgment in favor of a major insurer/third party administrator in a suit seeking ERISA benefits.
Won summary judgment for an employer against liability for a violent attack by an employee while on company property.
Won an order striking answer and affirmative defenses against defendant automobile dealership in a plaintiff’s personal injury action.

Pro Bono

Mr. Brenner has represented and obtained verdicts in favor of pro bono clients in numerous civil matters. Most recently, Mr. Brenner successfully obtained a verdict against an automobile dealership that repeatedly sold defective used automobiles and had refused to return down payments to its customers.
