About Emily Bayton

Ms. Bayton is a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property and Technology Practice Group. She focuses her practice primarily in the areas of trademarks and copyrights. Ms. Bayton counsels clients on trademark selection, clearance, registration and prosecution in the United States and around the world. She has helped various clients implement trademark and domain name enforcement programs in order to strengthen and protect their brands.

Ms. Bayton also represents clients in federal court in cases involving trademark infringement and dilution, copyright infringement, trade secret misappropriation, unfair competition and cybersquatting. She has represented clients in numerous opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Ms. Bayton also has experience in the areas of sweepstakes and promotions, and regularly counsels clients on legal issues related to promotional marketing activities.

Prior to joining Lewis and Roca, Ms. Bayton completed a clerkship in the areas of intellectual property, privacy and website compliance at Meredith Corporation, a large publishing company in Des Moines, Iowa. She also served as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Iowa College of Business throughout law school.
